About Us

A little more information about us.

Our background.

The Wildlife clubs of Uganda (WCU) is a country wide association of young people’s environmental clubs which are committed to the conservation of Uganda’s natural heritage and the wise use of environmental resources. WCU was founded in 1975 as a non-religious and non-political association that does not discriminate in its membership on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion or political differences.

What we do.

We, as The Wild Life Clubs Of Uganda, with Love ,Passion and Determination, work towards preserving and conserving the natural beauty and extraordinary wild life species of the Pearl Of Africa.

Our Mission.

To educate the population so as to ensure the sustainable use of Uganda’s natural resources and to conserve the country’s wildlife heritage for the present and future generations.

Our objectives.

We aim to:

  • To cultivate a desire for environmental conservation amongst the people of Uganda and East Africa as a whole.
  • To promote the appreciation and scientific study of the country’s wildlife and the environment.
  • To promote the realization of the economic, recreational and aesthetic values of the country’s natural resources.
  • To improve cooperation with other organizations having similar objectives both inside and outside Uganda.

Wildlife Clubs Uganda has taken the initiative to establish a number of wildlife clubs in the different schools and communities so as to sensitize our community and country on how to preserve and conserve nature. In many different schools we have managed to have wild life representatives to reach out and perform the different activities of the Wildlife Clubs.

We are against the act of poaching because it reduces on the number of wildlife and animals which normally attract thousands of tourists to the country every year.

Uganda has various Game parks and game reserves which are found in the different parts of the country. For example:

  • Queen Elizabeth National GamePark.
  • Murchision Falls National Gamepark.
  • Kidepo Valley National Park.
  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
